Broos relies heavily on returning Aboubakar

Hugo Broos will rely heavily on the returning Vincent Aboubakar as Cameroon eye all three points in Durban.

The Indomitable Lions face South Africa in a 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Tuesday evening.

Aboubakar is set to take his place in the starting XI, having missed the reverse fixture in Limbe this past weekend through suspension. Cameroon have been hindered by injuries and lacked a focal point against Bafana Bafana, but will be boosted by the return of the Porto striker.

The 24-year-old scored in successive 1-0 wins over Mauritania and Gambia and will fancy his chances against a fragile South African defence.

Aboubakar, who has scored 17 goals in 37 club appearances this season, scored a stunning free-kick the last time he played against the 1996 AFCON champions in a 1-1 draw last year.

"The only way to be certain of qualification is by winning all our remaining games," said Broos leading up to the clash. " And we have to start with Tuesday's match against South Africa. It will be a difficult game.

"We will continue to keep working hard and try to get a positive result. I am convinced that we will have a good team out there on Tuesday. We have to find solutions to win the game.

"With Aboubakar, we will have an attacker who can be more dangerous than the attackers we had at the weekend. We will try to make amends for Saturday's game."

Cameroon top Group M on seven points, closely followed by Mauritania on six.
