Cameroon has been drawn alongside Cote d'Ivoire, Mali and Guinea in Group D of AFCON 2015 to be hosted by Equatorial Guinea.
The draw for the finals took place at the Sipopo Convention Centre in the Equatorial Guinea capital, Malabo on December 3.
The event which commenced at 19H00 (18H00 GMT) was under the chairmanship of the President of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, His Excellency Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo and CAF President, Issa Hayatou.
The 75-minute ceremony was emceed by renowned Congolese journalist and broadcaster, Robert Brazza whilst globally acclaimed saxophonist, Manu Dibango entertained guests to some of his favourite tunes.
In addition, selected African football legends assisted CAF General Secretary, Hicham El Amrani to conduct the draw involving the 16 qualified teams.
Notable amongst them are Egyptian icon, Mohamed Aboutreika (three-time winner of the Africa Cup of Nations and also won CAF Champions League titles with Al Ahly), who doubles as a CAF Ambassador; former Cameroon striker Alphonse Tchami (who participated at the 1994 and 1998 FIFA World Cups and several Africa Cup of Nations) now Team Manager of the Indomitable Lions and South Africa coach Ephraim ‘Shakes’ Mashaba.
The final tournament will be held from 17 January to 8 February 2015 in four cities namely Bata, Malabo, Mongomo and Ebibeyin.
