Cameroon footballer attempts suicide

The Director General of Canon Sportif Yaoundé Mr Soleil Nyassa announced that their Goalkeeper Jean Effala Komguep, 22, attempted to end his life yesterday Friday, October 31.

Mr Nyassa made the remarks in a radio press release with Amplitude Fm Radio Station. He reported that the former doorman for Coton Sport swallowed a dose of tablets in a dramatic attempt to end his life at his residence.

It is alleged that Jean Effala had moved over to Canon Yaounde, but all the paperwork for his transfer had not yet been done. The president of his former club UMS Loum (Pierre Kwemo ) was refusing to grant his transfer for over six months which made the player to become so frustrated.

The player was rushed to a Yaoundé local hospital after his attempted suicide where he remains in a critical condition between life and death.
