Uganda Cranes will face off with Cameroon’s Indomitable Lions in a pre-Chan international friendly at the Fufa Technical Centre in Njeru, Jinja.
It will be an important game for both coaches in their final warm-up match as they prepare their sides just days to the start of the much anticipated Chan 2016 to be hosted by Rwanda.
Uganda Cranes under coach Micho Sredojevic are looking for nothing less than a win after coming from a goal down to draw with Gabon last Sunday in another friendly that ended 1-1.
Cranes have been in superb form but African Nations Championship (Chan) 2016 that kicks off in Kigali, Rwanda this Saturday will come as a litmus test to the team.
Both the Indomitable Lions and Uganda Cranes have their first matches in the Chan 2016 tournament scheduled for Sunday and they will be seeking to avoid slumping to any defeat as it might affect their morale.
Cranes have a formidable striking force full of firepower but their attacking endeavours were thwarted by Gabon on Sunday after a succession of chances as they settled for the draw.
Caesar Okhuti, Farouk Miya and Robert Ssentongo are players any opposition coach must be wary about as they seek to find their scoring touch ahead of Kigali.
After the game against Gabon Uganda Cranes coach Micho said, “we played with heavy legs after training twice the previous day.
“We wanted to gauge how the players would react if they played on consecutive days. However we have taken note of all areas that need fine tuning to get better results in our upcoming matches.”
