Over 2,200 delegates from within and outside Cameroon are expected in Yaounde to compete in 12 sports disciplines.
Barely six days to go to the kick-off of the 4th edition of the national games christened, DIXIADES, preparations are near completion to host the event.
According to the project manager in charge of the games at the National Olympic and Sports committee, David Ojong, arrangements have been finalized concerning the accommodation, feeding and transportation of delegates and an insurance cover provided for both athletes and officials.
The list of athletes of athletes to take part in the competition has been released and accreditations will be ready by Saturday. He disclosed that the first delegation is expected to arrive in Yaounde on December 15.
David Ojong also disclosed that the organization of the games this year will coincide with the 50th anniversary of Cameroon’s participation at the Olympic Games and for this reason a symposium will be organized on the development of the Olympic movement in Cameroon before the kick-off of the games on December 15th and 16th.
