The 4th edition of the National Games of Cameroon has ended with the centre region emerging as the 2014 champions of the competition.
The centre region recorded a total of 79 medals,36 in gold,30 in silver and 13 in bronze.
The littoral region was rated the second after recording 53 medals in all the sports meanwhile the Far North Region came third with 23 medals.
In all,a total of 302 medals were won in the five day event with William Ndiko from the West ,sixteen years of age voted as best male athlete of the 2014 games after grabbing three medals.
Carine Tatah seventeen years, from the North West Region, emerged as the winner of the 5000 meters and 1500 meters marathon race andwas honoured as the best female athlete of the games.
Chad, one of the five participating African countries received the fair play trophyeven though they obtained only two medals in the meantimeCongo wonnine medals.
Specifically, the North West Region emerged as the overall winners of Dixiades 2014 in footballafter trashing the North Region in a 3-2 game.The North region on her part retained the trophy in the Female football after battling in a 2-0 win with the South Region.
Ebolowa, capital of the East region will host to 5th edition of the 2015 National Games, the President of National Olympic Committee, Hamad Kalkaba Malboum made the announcement.
The closing ceremony was attended by The Minister of Sports and Physical Education, Adoum Garoua, General Coordinator of the games, Gregoire Owona and sport authorities in the countries.
