Elephants train before Lions ahead of duel

Barely hours to the much awaited duel between the Elephants and the Lions counting for day two Nations Cup qualifiers, the two sides trained at the Amadou Ahidjo Stadium today.

While the Elephants had a familiarisation training earlier, the Lions came afterwards to train and there are indications that the coach wants to keep the winning group unchanged for the game.

The African giant has among other big names in their squad, Yaya Toure, triple African Player of the year, Gervinho and Salomon Kalu.

Their coach Herve Renard, 2012 African Champion with Zambia seems tough and instilling discipline in the players as he sent off four before the Yaounde trip.

Both teams won their first matches though the Lions are going to the game with an advantage of having won without conceding 2-0 against DR Congo and Ivory Coast beat Sierra Leone 2-1.

The game would be a tussle for leadership in Group D.
