FCFA 163 billion has been programmed for the construction of a stadium named after Paul Biyato host the 2019 African Cup of Nations, AFCON.
The Minister of Public Contracts, Abba Sadou, announced the imminent construction of the stadium during the fifth session of the national committee in charge of preparing for the 2016/ 2019Africa Nations Football competitions.
"We have just received the approval of the hierarchy for the award of construction of the stadium of Yaoundé-Olembe,” Abba Sado said.
According to the Minister, the construction will be executed in design-build mode by the Italian group Piccini.
"The tender documents were drawn up to finalize the work has already been validated and sent to the company on December 9. The draft contract was to be signed on December 23, 2015," said Abba Sadou.
