Fecafoot election scheduled for February 25, 2015

All members of the Standardization Committee of the Cameroon football Federation met Monday at the Fecafoot headquarters for a meeting at the end of which three resolutions were taken.

One resolution focused on the new timetable for the electoral process at the Cameroonian football Federation. This new timetable was awaited since Fifa decided on 28 November, at the request of Governments, to suspend the election that heralded in a troubled social context.

But, those who criticized the Organization of elections by the Standardization Committee failed to pressure the umbrella Forum of world football, for the electoral process to resume at the base.

Thus, Joseph Owona President of Standardization Committee and his peers, decided Monday that elections will resume where they had been interrupted.

Wednesday, February 25, 2015 was set aside as the date for the election of the new Fecafoot president. Out of the six candidates who had demonstrated since November their ambitions to succeed Iya Mohammed, a single candidate, Tombi A Roko Sidiki, had a record which, according to the organizers, fulfilled the conditions.

Bell Joseph Antoine, Atah Robert, Penne Robert, Jules Nyongha and Brigite Mebande, had their applications rejected for various reasons. Thanks to the revival of the electoral process, a new deadline was granted to these five dropouts candidates. They now have until February 12, 2015 to complete their records "in accordance with the Constitution and the electoral code of the Fecafoot" indicated in a communiqué from Fecafoot.

And as also ordered by Fifa, a campaign to popularize the new texts of the Cameroon football Federation will take place on the whole of the territory from January 07 to February 10, 2015.

Joseph Owona plans to return power to the new President-elect of the Fecafoot Friday, February 27, 2015.
