The first general assembly of the Fenassco A and B leagues took place on December 3, 2014 at the Yaounde sports complex. According to the director of norms and monitoring of sports federations, Omgba Blaise, the meeting was aimed at defining the policy and orientations of the sports associations reserved for primary and secondary school children.
Participants also elaborated strategies for government action in the two leagues as well as enacted the rules and regulations of organizing activities and sports competitions.
The meeting organized by the Ministry of Sports and Physical Education, brought together representatives from the Presidency of the Republic and the Prime Ministry as well as presidents of sports federations whose disciplines are practiced during Fenassco A and B games.
Speaking during the opening ceremony, the Minister of Sports and Physical Education, Adoum Garoua, said sports has to make a contribution to enable President Paul Biya attain his noble objective of emergence by 2035. He said the Fenassco A and B games constitute the bedrock of the development of sports in Cameroon, a nursery from where all sports federations are to fetch fresh talents who will become future champions.
Youths during the games, he said, cultivate the spirit of patriotism, fighting spirit, solidarity, friendship, fair play and tolerance, values which make for good citizen when they grow up. The general assembly was attended by the four ministers namely, Zacharie Perevet, Catherine Bakang Mbock, Fame Ndongo.
