Fifa Adopts New Fecafoot Statutes

According to a communiqué signed by the president of the Normalisation Committee, Joseph Owona and published on the official website of the federation on July 10th, the world football governing body, FIFA has validated two of the nine draft laws submitted by the Normalisation Committee for approval on November 29, 2013.

The approved laws are the new statutes and the new electoral code of Fecafoot. According to the communiqué, the validated laws will be submitted to the general of Fecafoot for adoption. The communiqué also states that FIFA is near finalising the validation process of the other proposed laws submitted to their examination; hence the remaining proposals shall not be included in the agenda of the above mentioned General Assembly session.

Joseph Owona also states that the Normalisation Committee will be meeting in the days ahead to decide on how to communicate the validated statutes to all the concerned parties, adopt a road map of activities leading to the conduct of fresh elections, in conformity with the mandate of the Normalisation Committee.

In a related news, the association of amateur club presidents met in an extraordinary general assembly meeting in Yaounde on Saturday, July 12 and called for the rapid publication of the revised statutes adopted by FIFA and for the exclusion of newly created clubs from the electoral process among other issues.
