Mexico coach Miguel Herrera announced his starting lineup on Thursday with no surprises, including Guillermo Ochoa as his starting goalkeeper for El Tri's World Cup debut Friday vs. Cameroon.
"The players each day are seeing it more clearly, we are working on that," Herrera said after Thursday's practice. "Our team can be world champions."
As he previously told ESPN, Manchester United's Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez will start on the bench in Natal. Herrera named his starting team, also retweeting the Mexico Federation's lineup announcement.
There were no major upsets, with the outfield 10 the same that started the final warmup match against Portugal last Friday.
Mexico XI vs. Cameroon: Ochoa, Rodriguez, Marquez, Moreno, Aguilar, Layun, Vazquez, Herrera, Guardado, Dos Santos, Peralta.
