Ivory Coast and Cameroon bring shame to the game

The final minutes of the African Cup of Nations qualifier between Ivory Coast and Cameroon were a complete sham as both sides sat back and played out a draw.

Cameroon had already qualified and had nothing to play for and a draw was enough to see the Ivorians safely through to the tournament in Guinea next January.

With that in mind, both sides "agreed" not to attack during the final minutes of the game.

With 89 minutes gone and the scoreline poised at 0-0, Ivory Coast decided to simply pass the ball about in their own half.

For their part, Cameroon opted not to push on up the pitch and try and win back the ball. This led to almost five minutes in which absolutely nothing happened.
