According to the League of professional football of Cameroon (LFPC), 25th January and 1st February 2015 have been marked for the launch of Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 Championship, respectively. "The Governing Council to be held January 15, 2015 will endorse these dates if all the conditions are met. As for the timetable, we can confirm that it is ready. We will present it to the public in due time", noted Pauline Manguele, Secretary General at LFPC.
Also, the League is putting together facilities so that everything is ready for the start of the competitions.
The activities include the upgrading of stadiums to host the matches, the recycling and training courses of the game and the clubs administrative officials, the development of the inherent in the operation of the activities of the season (contracts of players, coaches...), and the development of the regulations of the Championships.
"To prepare fully for all these activities, the search for funding, the evaluation of the agreements with partners is also added," indicated Pauline Manguele. Indeed, the funding of the competitions is one of the main difficulties mentioned by LFPC in the last season.
Meanwhile, the SG of the League has to make a tour to inspect the stadiums that could accommodate the various competitions. Thus, the stadium of Loum, Obala, Mfou, Mbalmayo, Djombé, Bertoua, Bafoussam, Buea were visited.
Indeed, the municipal stadium of Obala, according the LFPC, does have any characteristic to make it eligible to the Professional League and offers no viable prospect because of the smallness of the site development. As for the one of Loum, the work being done bode not the ability to make it functional in the season in preparation.
The facilities prescribed for the other stages before their approval include the restoration of the wall, construction or restoration of the handrail, the construction of the locker room and toilets.
