Union des Mouvement Sportive de Loum, UMS has grabbed the tittle of the League 1 Championship after battling out News Stars this Monday 29th August 2016 at the Reunification Stadium in Douala in 2-1 game.
UMS of Loum gained the status as the tittle holders thanks to the defeat of Coton Sports by Botafogo FC in a 0-2 encounter.
The League 1 champions, UMS of Loum; has taken over the batton of command from Coton Sport that has been leading the chart during the last three editions of the competition.
It is worth noting that ,UMS of Loum, a local team from a small locality in the Muongo Division, managed by Pierre Kwemo ascended in the last five years from the divisional level to CAF standards.
During the last season of the League 1 games ,UMS of Loum portrayed professionalism and gained popularity after winning a major championship.
As part of the matches played during weekend, Canon of Yaounde made recognisable strides, the Nkolndongo club emerged winners after defeating Aigle of Dschang at home in a 2-0 match thus a chance for her to move from the relegation tunnel.
Panthere of Bangante throw weights with Yong Sports Academy in a 0-1 defeat in favour of YOSA. With this victory,YOSA maintains her superiority on the chart as the third leader.
In the fourth position is Canon after imposing her pre-eminence over Cosmos of Mbam in 4-0 game.
