Lions have a better chance than Ivorians in AFCON - Mboma

The former Indomitable Lions striker who was one of the consultants of Canal+ during the AFCON matches in Gabon Equatorial Guinea noted that the Indomitable Lions have the means better during this anticipated competition from January 17 to February 08, 2015.

According to Patrick Mboma, the chances of Cameroon playing well during the Africa cup of Nations are good.

Housed in pool D in the company of Ivory Coast, Mali and Guinea, the Indomitable Lions will be able to make a good play.

"I will not say that Cameroon has 90% chance of getting out of this pool, but I think the chances are better than that of Côte d'Ivoire because Cameroon proved to be better than the Ivory Coast in six matches," he said on the sidelines of the press conference Tuesday, January 13, 2015 in Douala.

However, according to the former Paris Saint Germain player, "Mali and Guinea are teams to consider." He said. Patrick Mboma believes Cameroon players must search for first place in the group to avoid facing Algeria in the competition in the second round.

The likely absence of some key players of the team (Mbia, Nkoulou) during the first encounters due to injury does not seem to worry the former player who relies on a well-stocked bench of the lions.

"If there are even 5 players of very high level and six others who learn a little through this experience, it's certainly enough to hope of good results," he reassured.

The Lions will arrive in Malabo, Friday, January 16, 2015 to play their first match of the competition against Mali on January 20.
