Lions to pay tax on their premiums

Joseph Owona, the Chairman of the Standardization Committee for Cameroon Football Federation has just made public a decision signed to secure the terms of management of the financial resources allocated by the State for the participation of the Indomitable Lions at the final phase of AFCON 2015.

Relying, inter alia, on the Presidential Decree of 26th September 2014 on the Organization and Functioning of the national team, the Fecafoot boss decided to entrust the management of the funds received from public authorities to the general coordinator of the national football team designated by the Minister of Finance.

In the exercise of their functions during the course of the AFCON 2015, it was proposed that staff, pick and pay withholding taxes when paying match bonuses and other incentives to the Indomitable Lions "in implementation of the provisions of the Finance Act of 2015" specified in the Act signed by Joseph Owona. "Any money that the State gives out is subject to the payment of taxes. "If at the beginning it was not done, now, it's back to force" explained a personality at the Cameroonian administration.

In his decision, the Chairman of the Standards Committee published the amount of the grant received from the State of Cameroon. Indiscretions advanced the figure to four billion Cfa Francs.
