MINSEP receives German ambassador

With Cameroon due to host the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, the Ministry of Sports and Physical Education has become a high-priced destination for newly accredited diplomats to Cameroon.

After the Japanese ambassador, it was the turn of the new German ambassador to Cameroon, Holger Mahanicke to pay a courtesy visit to the minister of Sports and Physical Education.

Speaking to the press after the meeting with the minister, Holger Mahanicke said he had come to reinforce the good relations existing between Cameroon and Germany saying many Cameroonian students and trainers study in Germany especially. He said German coaches have also trained the Cameroon national football team such as Winfried Schaffer and Otto Pfister.

He declared that he will be working to intensify cooperation between the two countries during his stay in Cameroon saying Cameroon is a key partner to Germany in the central African region. He also said the fact that the minister of Sports and Physical Education, Adoum Garoua once studied in Germany and speaks German, enabled them to establish a good personal relationship.
