Makola, Matlaba to miss Cameroon clash

Bafana Bafana players Bafana Bafana players

The Orlando Pirates duo of Mpho Makola and Thabo Matlaba have been ruled out of the 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifier against Cameroon on Tuesday due to injury.

Both players have suffered respective injuries from Bafana Bafana’s 2-all draw with the Indomitable Lions at the weekend.

The only Buccaneer left for this crucial encounter is striker Thamsanqa Gabuza who – alongside his teammates, also put in a full shift for the national team in the first round against the West Africans.

The match on Tuesday is a must-win for Head Coach Shakes Mashaba and his charges. Anything less than a victory will put paid to any chances of qualifying for AFCON 2017.

Bafana Bafana is currently in third place with two points after three rounds of matches. While, Cameroon lead the group with seven points after the same number of matches played.
