South African national team coach Shakes Mashaba says they still have a chance to qualify for the 2017 CAF Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon.

Mashaba was speaking ahead of their second leg qualifier against Cameroon in Durban on Tuesday night, saying his aim is to win the three remaining Group M matches.

Bafana Bafana are currently camping in Durban preparing for the crucial encounter after their 2-2 draw in Cameroon last weekend.

"I can say they will still lose one or two games, and they will not have a walk in the park,” said Shakes to Kick-Off.com.

“We are looking at trying to win the last three games and then we have a big chance of going through.

"But we need to make sure we consolidate once we score – that is very critical.

“If you look at the equalizer [Cameroon’s second goal], it was a set piece. We need to avoid such things when are at a stage like that.”

The South Africans have two points out of three matches having lost to Mauritania, drew to Cameroon and Gambia and the coach believes the Indomitable Lions will come out for a draw.

"I think after this 2-2 draw and after what they have seen from us they will still want to come here and consolidate and look for another draw,” added the coach.

"I'm definitely sure they won't go all out because they are in good stead with seven points now.”

The clash is scheduled to be staged at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Tuesday at 19:00.
