Ndamukong Suh the only Lion on PFWA All-Pro team

Another day, another honor for Ndamukong Suh.

Suh was the only Detroit Lions played named to the Pro Football Writers Association All-Pro team today. The defensive tackle led the Lions with 8.5 sacks, plus two more in the postseason, and was the heart of their top-ranked rushing defense.

Linebacker DeAndre Levy and safety Glover Quin joined Suh as PFWA all-NFC selections.

Suh and Quin are the only Lions scheduled to play in the Pro Bowl later this month, after receiver Calvin Johnson pulled out with an injury. Levy is an alternate, and Suh still could withdraw from the game with a big off-season ahead.

Suh, who was the only Lion selected to the Associated Press All-Pro team this month -- Levy and Quin were on the second team -- will be a free agent after the season, and the Lions are trying to sign him to a long-term contract.

Lions general manager Martin Mayhew said last week that he hasn't ruled out using the franchise tag, at a cost of $26.9 million, to keep Suh in Detroit.
