The chairman of the normalization committee of FECAFOOT Prof. Joseph Owona says the committee is not behind any candidate vying for the post of president of the federation.

“The Ethics Committee is not involved behind any candidate whatsoever. I am appealing to all stakeholders to conduct peaceful, transparent and democratic elections. For us, the process must be completed on time as recommended by Fifa. In my view, no electoral process of FECAFOOT has been so transparent. We published the lists of constituencies to let no one say that there are fictitious clubs. We are open to any litigation. We will soon be over 700 million francs since we must send people on missions, send them in all departments of Cameroon and in all regions”, said Joseph Owona.

He made the statement during a press conference granted after the meeting of the Technical Commission that held on Tuesday August 25, 2015 to evaluate the progress of departmental and regional general meetings proceeded to adoption of the Statutes of these leagues.

Prof. Owona further explained that the departmental electoral colleges leagues have been published and that following this publication, the Technical Secretariat has received a number of challenges which would be channeled to the Electoral Commission and decision-making authority on the matter.

The Committee noted with satisfaction that the statues were actually adopted in the respective leagues.

During the press conference, the state of preparations for the holding of general meetings to elect the executive organs of departmental and regional leagues was presented.
