The Nigerian beat Cameroonian born Michel Noumdem in the epic fight for the African title on Saturday in Yaoundé.
Power Lee succeeded Super Makia as African Professional wrestling champion by beating Michel Noudem in the epic battle for the African title belt on Saturday, September 19 at the multipurpose sports complex in Yaoundé.
The title which had been conserved 28 years by Super Makia finally eluded Cameroon this time amidst, complaints of partiality from the referee from fans given that Michel Noudem had the upper hand in the fight and his defeat came as a surprise when Power Lee succeeded in immobilizing his two hands.
However, the vice president of the Cameroon Professional wrestling federation, Ndo Emmanuel, the referee merely applied the regulation in such a scenario. He blamed Noudem for having neglected his opponent to the point of giving him the opportunity to surprise him at the end.
Reacting to the defeat, Noudem said, he felt very bad that the title belt is leaving Cameroon. He said it is not going to be for long as he is going to challenge Power Lee again for the belt in less than one year.
It is worthy to note that sixtime Cameroon champion, Noudem Michel had once beaten the seven times Nigeria champion, Power Lee and came close to beating him again in Yaoundé had it not been for the inattention of the referee, he added.
The new African champion will have to represent Africa at the upcoming world championship to take place in the United Stated of America.
