Synafoc makes proposals on Fecafoot draft statutes

The national Union of Cameroonian footballers (Synafoc) met the press yesterday at its headquarters in Douala, in order to bring out its contributions about the projects status and the electoral code of the Cameroon football Federation (Fecafoot).

"We have made a first reading and our contributions are aimed at improving these texts, so that when everything is set up, we have a federation which follows to those who put it in place," said Mr. Daniel Ngos, Synafoc SG.

About the Statute, Synafoc proposes that the only bodies of the federation are the General Assembly, the Executive Committee and judicial bodies, other bodies set out in the draft statute were considered "superfluous". "The general secretariat cannot be erected into a body of the federation," Synafoc reveals. Article 23 concerning the composition of the AG was also discussed.

Here, Synafoc suggested that associations of trades as well as the clubs are to be represented. Finally, for Synafoc, the presidential term should be limited. "It must be renewable only once, so including the renewal of the football staff”.

In addition, with regard to the electoral code, the Synafoc thinks that the code of Fecafoot could not be imposed on private associations, because the latter are not dismemberments of the Fecafoot. "they benefit from autonomy of management and legal personality”.
