Dar es Salaam — Twiga Stars embark on the journey to Cameroon this evening when they clash with Zimbabwe at the Azam Complex.

This is the first leg of the 2016 African Women Championship qualifier. The return leg will be held in Harare on March 18.

The Tanzanian girls now under the tutelage of Nasra Juma will be looking for a convincing victory on their home soil to put themselves in favourable position heading into second leg showdown.

Should Twiga Stars qualify for the Yaoundé tournament, it will be their second time in six years. They last competed at the 2010 finals that took place in South Africa.

Speaking on the eve of the match, Nasra declared her charges ready for the battle against the Mighty Warriors.

"There is an air of belief in the camp; everyone is excited about the match, so it is my hope that the girls will humble Zimbabwe on Friday (today)," said the outspoken coach.

"Some players had minor knocks, but they have all recovered and will be available for selection. In short, the team is injury free."
