The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon kicked off World Cup preparations on Wednesday in the city of Kurfstein in Austria, with 28 players in attendance including skipper Samuel Eto’o.
Only one player is yet to report to camp. Defender Benoit Assou Ekotto of Premier League side Queens Park Rangers will join the group before the weekend, according to the team’s media officer Raphael Nkoa.
Wednesday's morning session focused on physical exercises under the conduct of Christophe Manouvrier - Olympique Marseille’s fitness coach – who was recruited by Cameroon FA for the 2014 World Cup.
Manouvrier earlier worked with the outfit under coach Denis Lavagne during the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Cameroon minister of sports Adoum Garoua will hold a meeting with the players and staff on Thursday to discuss matters relating to match bonuses, according to the FA.
The camping will close on May 31 after two friendly matches against Macedonia and Paraguay.
