The superior control of the state surveys Fecafoot

Several expenses incurred by the Committee for Standardization have not been justified. Experts from the economic and financial matters of greater control of the State since last Tuesday, September 30, have decided to see clearly in the use of funds allocated by the Government and the benefits of participation of Cameroon in the 19th World senior football played from June 12 to July 13, 2014 at Brazil.

This survey is causing the Chairman of the Committee for Standardization of the national federation to lose sleep.

According to information received from credible sources, also relayed by the website mboafootball.com, "the Chairman of the Committee for standardisation has been forced to work in his office for more than 6 hours with officers of the higher control of the State".

Several other executives of Fecafoot, panicking, have been auditioned last Tuesday. During this face-to-face with Consupe, the concerned have been summoned to explain, with supporting evidence, how the funds were managed.

And at this level, Joseph Owona was unable to explain certain expenses, less the presence within the Cameroonian delegation of dozens of people who had absolutely nothing to do at Brazil, a bloated delegation consisting of friends, family and other impostors unconnected with the World Cup, things that resulted in additional expenditure.

Early last July the Minister of Sports, Adoum Garoua, in an overheated atmosphere which earned him the jeers in the Chamber, had been questioned on the 'bloated' character of the Cameroonian delegation in Brazil.

In the middle of the boos, he indicated that he had a sports delegation (50 people) and the formal phase, 'composed of representatives of the main bodies of the State namely the Presidency of the Republic, the Senate, the National Assembly, the services of the Prime Minister, some technical departments', each component being loaded to bear its charges.

Reporters from mboafootball also indicated that "Joseph Owona was also called to justify the use of the money paid by the sponsors in the context of the participation of Cameroon for its seventh participation in a final phase of the World Cup, an amount of over two billion CFA francs".

President of the Committee for Standardization, criticized by the national and international press for his poor management since July 2013, was also invited to submit copies of contracts that bind the Fecafoot to its various sponsors.

The same sources also indicated that several expenditures have not been justified. The Committee for Standardization, which was unable to read the texts and to hold elections on the deadline of March 31, 2014, clearly took many liberties with public funds. The results of the investigation prescribed by the head of State will allow, without any doubt, sanctions on this management.
