Uganda advances after CMR withdraws from Beach Soccer Champs

The opponents of the Uganda National Beach Soccer Team-Sand Cranes in the Africa Beach Soccer Championship have withdrawn.

The Sand Cranes were due to play with Cameroon on the weekend, 13th-15th February, 2015 but CAF has communicated to FUFA that they have withdrawn from the competition.

Here is part of the communication from CAF signed by Shereen Arafa- Director of Competitions.

"FECAFOOT has just informed CAF of its withdrawal from the African Beach Soccer Championship, Seychelles 2015. Consequently the above mentioned matches have been cancelled leaving Uganda to automatically qualify to the next round of the qualifiers.

We draw your kind attention that the missions of the referees and the commissioners of the above mentioned matches are cancelled."

Uganda will now play Ghana in the next round in March with the first leg slated for 13th-15th March, 2015.
