Unisport secure precious home win

Unisport du Haut-Nkam secured a 1-0 victory against Olympique de Ngor in Douala on Sunday, in the first leg of their CAF Confederation Cup’s preliminary round encounter.

The Cameroonians dominated the play from the start, creating early chances that Eteme Adamou and Serge Alain Ane failed to convert.

However, the visitors didn’t take long to fight back and could have taken the lead without a great performance from the local keeper, Haschou Kerrido.

And the ‘Flambeau de l’Ouest’ ended up opening the score against the run of play, thanks to new signing Ludovic Ndzie just before the break.

Unisport missed several opportunities to double their advantage in the second half, but still walked out with the three points to take a narrow but crucial lead ahead of the return leg in Senegal in a fortnight.

“It’s good that we managed to win. In football, you go through times when you dominate and other times when you are dominated and this was the case today.

We now hope for a good result in Dakar,” Unisport keeper Haschou Kerrido said after the game.
