Yong Sport Academy of Bamenda still hangs on to the second spot on the log despite dropping points in Bangangte against Panthere, in a one-all tie in a day 12 encounter played on Sunday May 3, 2015
Yosa’s grip on the second position was helped more by results elsewhere as both Lion Blesse and Apejes, close rivals for the spot also drop points in draws. League leader, Coton Sport of Garoua likewise was held to a virgin tie in Garoua by visiting Union of Douala, only the first time they have dropped points at their Roumde Ajia fortress in Garoua.
Yosa looked like surrendering its position when Panthere got on the score sheet within the first quarter of the game, when Nlo Eya Edouard profited from some poor defending by Yosa to head into a gapping net, a rebound from the bar after team mate Meyong Etong Alfred had hit the cross bar from within the box.
Panthere piled more pressure spurred by their noisy fans, but Yosa was able to wave off any more goals to take the tie into the recess at 1-0. After the first half, Yosa up its game but found Panthere better organized at the back. At the 72nd minute, Kamgue Justin was forced to withdraw his hitman, Kongnyuy Jude who had made little impact upfront. Former coach for Yosa, Ndoumbe Bosso, sitting on the bench for Panthere, had Kongnyuy under strict supervision by two defenders.
The tactical change soon brought dividend as Moukoko Moussobo was at the centre of the action three minutes after coming on when he headed from the byline a loose ball from a poor attempt at goal by Mawobe Ntouba to offered him a second chance which he took with a deadly shot at close range to restore parity.
From then, Yosa took full control of the game and Panthere was only served by some desperate defending to keep Yosa back.
For Ndoumbe Bosso, his team created so many opportunities but was unable to make use of them, Yosa had only one and made good use of it, Yosa he said relied on counter attacks and long balls to kongnyuy Jude, but nevertheless, he acknowledge that Yosa are a very good side.
A similar remark was echoed by Nkambfu Gilbert, midfielder for Yosa who said they came against a very good Panthere side that limited their movements particularly in midfield but coming from Bangante with a point is a welcomed results.
