Young Dallas fan asks for sympathy for Ndamukong Suh

Ndamukong Suh's tearful news conference Sunday after the Detroit Lions' wild-card loss touched the heart of one young Dallas Cowboys fan in Dallas.

Dillon Crosby, 8 — who was at the game with his parents, Gary and Maria, and friends — asked his father to ship a homemade Christmas ornament to the Free Press in hopes of getting it to Suh to cheer him up.

"Please don't be too mean to Mr. Suh," Dillon's note said. "He was crying for a reason."

Gary Crosby, who said he'd like to see Suh in a Dallas uniform, said they first heard audio of the news conference.

"I'm like going, 'Wow. He's crying?' " Crosby said by phone. "And Dillon said, 'Dad, stop it. He is really sad, and that is not right. We're Christian. He's crying. He's not a bad guy.'

"And I said, 'You know, Dillon, you're right. I'm sorry.' "

That's when Dillon took the ornament off the family Christmas tree and said he wanted to send it to Suh.

Crosby said the ornament was the first one Dillon had made in school and had been on their tree the past two years. He wasn't thrilled to part with it but realized how serious his son was.
