Samuel Eto'o: Win more pleasing than goals

Everton striker Samuel Eto‘o says that the team performance and victory at Burnley today was more important than getting his own two goals.

Eto’o gave Everton the lead in the fourth minute with a bullet header, and then completed the scoring with the Blues’ third with an absolutely wonderful strike from outside the box.

“I’m happy with my performance,” said Eto’o.

“The two goals were great but I’m more happy with the team performance. On his chance to get a hat-trick when he watched his chance bounce off the post, Eto’o was unconcerned.

“That’s football,” he said. “Maybe next time it’ll go in.”
