Apostle John Chi donates items worth 3.2MFCFA to Baka pigmies

The people of Cyrie village, Mindourou sub-division of the East region will forever remain grateful to the anointed servant of God, Apostle John Chi following a donation made to their community last Friday September 12, during an occasion described by many as “Christmas before Christmas”.

The founder of the Ark of God’s Covenant Ministry (AGCOM) and other members of his delegation who were in the East on an evangelization mission, offered the coveted gift comprising of several bags of rice, salt, assorted clothes as well as physical cash worth CFA 3.2MFCFA to the needy people of Cyrie village made up mostly of the Baka pigmies.

Addressing thousands at a make-shift worship ground Friday, the venerated preacher, Apostle John Chi told the seemingly teeming and enthusiastic crowd that works of charity and righteousness go together, adding that as human beings, one has a nation to build and a world to change.

He said he had come to put quality smiles on the faces of the pigmies, most of who are living in abject poverty. Apostle John Chi noted that true love for mankind manifest itself through giving to the down trodden.

“There is no love that does not express itself in giving. Giving is a rare privileged when it is done in the proper attitude. It is praise worthy not only to give to our power but beyond our power”, the Man of God maintained.

“We are here to continue the mission that Christ left behind, to seek and to serve the Lord” he said. He reminded worshipers that: “We begin to succeed in life when the pains and troubles of others begin to matter to us because our success and happiness depends on our willingness to help others solve their problems.

Successful people are simply problem solvers. Helping the needy is part of our ministry. Considering what Jesus said in Mathew 25:31-45, when he said whatever you do or fail to do to the least of your brothers that you do unto me. In other words Jesus was saying that he has no farm where he expects us to work for him but that his farm is our fellow brothers,’’ he concluded.

Worthwhile intervention Apparently, inspired by the words of Christ that “when I was thirsty, you didn’t give me water, when I was hungry, you didn’t give me food and I when was naked, you did not clothe me”, Apostle John Chi’s last week outing was not only a forum for him to share the word of God with the Bakas but also to clothe, feed and give them water to drink.

The atmosphere in Cyrie village last Friday seems to have been a direct replica of the biblical story of Jesus Christ feeding 5000men with bread and fish. Over a thousand villagers were fed with cooked food (fried rice) and bread while each household at the end of the visit returned home with a bag of rice and salt plus physical cash.

Djamane Dieudonne, a municipal councilor of the Baka Mayos council, who took home two bags of rice and a bag of salt, simply described the gesture as show of love for the needy. While describing Apostle John Chi as God-send to their community, he sustained that it was the first time such an anointed and widely acclaimed Man of God visited the sub-division.

That life changing sermon Before Apostle John Chi could stepped down from his car, it had rained heavily for over half an hour, a down pour considered by many as showers of blessing. But when he finally mounted the rostrum, the weather suddenly changed into a bright one, good enough for the day’s activities.

In a sermon that centred more on salvation, the Man of God pointed out strongly that God created us all in his image whether short or tall, black or white, able or disable. He said God has promised salvation to whoever shall accept his son Jesus Christ, adding that salvation is the only guarantee for sinners to be set free from the penalties of sin.

However, he continued that salvation is personal, reason why each person must accept Christ as his personal Lord and Saviour.

Concluding his preaching, Apostle John Chi entreated worshippers to give Christ the right position in their lives. He advised that to accept Christ means changing from their old practices and embracing the teachings and ways of Christ.
