Bamenda hosts praise Banquet against Boko Haram

The people of Bamenda organised the religious from different denominations for a praise banquet to thank God for preservation at a time when Boko Haram insurgency has destabilised some communities in the country.

It was an initiative of Mezam I CPDM Section to gather different religious denominations to offer praises to God from May 8-10, 2015.

Mezam I CPDM Section President Nji Paul Atanga summed up the three-day event in a statement, “Do not take God’s grace for granted”. Hence assembled different church denominations to thank God for His goodness and blessings for Cameroon in an event dubbed, “All Bamenda Praise Banquet”.

The event that ran from May 8-10, 2015 at the Bamenda Congress Hall featured singing and prayers to count the blessings of the nation in the face of challenges staring the neighbouring countries and the world.

It was against this backdrop that Mezam I CPDM Section President, Minister Nji Paul Atanga, saluted the initiative which recognises and appreciates God’s grace on Cameroon with the peaceful resolution of the Cameroon/Nigeria border crises to show.

They prayed for the elimination of the Boko Haram terrorist group causing havoc in the Far North region. In effect, Minister Nji Paul Atanga prescribed efforts to sustain peace, unity and development in the face of terrorism.

It was all about gospel music, interspersed with ecumenical prayers by Muslims, Catholics, Baptists, Pentecostals etc.

An exhortation by Rev Fr. Javes inspired respective Christians and Muslim communities to feel the spirit of thanksgiving and thank God for Cameroon, the land of promise, the land of glory.

The event also featured Christians and choirs from virtually all the mainstream and Pentecostal churches in Bamenda metropolis .
