Christians attending the launching of the year of Mercy mass at the Catholic University Institute of Buea have been directed to live in faith: leaving the life of sin and moving with God who is all merciful. The directive was made by his Lordship Immanuel Bushu, chancellor of CUIB and Bishop of the Diocese of Buea during his sermon on the year of Mercy, declared by the Pope.

The Bishop reminded Christians from the CUIB community, CIPALAM and guests that it was of importance to praise and thank God for the many favors and blessings bestowed on the University. He enjoined all to pray to God for his grace to leave sin and be righteous in Him all the days of our lives.

During the penitential service, before the mass, Christians were engaged in meditations to remind them of who they are to God. Rev. Fr. Peter Akanang, of the campus Ministry during the examination of conscience reminded all that the year of Mercy declared by Pope Francis, is a year of God’s grace: thus an opportunity for Christians to reunite and reconcile with one another and with God thereby returning to Him. He To crown the Mass launching the year of Mercy, the door of Mercy was opened by the Bishop accompanied by the priests.
