China will face debutants Cameroon in the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup Round of 16 after the Africans came from a goal down to defeat fellow newcomers Switzerland to finish second in Group C behind reigning champions Japan.

Cameroon had to come from a goal down to set up their June 20 meeting with the eight-time Asian champions after second-half goals from Gabrielle Onguene (47th) and Madeleine Ngono Mani (62nd) had cancelled out Ana Maria Crnogorevic’s 24th minute opener.

The victory saw Cameroon end their group stage campaign with six points, three less than Japan who maintained their perfect Group C record with a 1-0 defeat of Ecuador, to set up Saturday’s Round of 16 meeting with 1999 FIFA Women’s World Cup runners-up China, who finished second in Group A behind Canada after a 1-0 loss to the tournament hosts was followed up with a defeat of third-placed Netherlands (1-0) and a draw with New Zealand (2-2).
